Erick Estrada, performing as Estrada, is a Los Angeles-area Guatemalan-American musician associated with shoegaze, dream pop, darkwave, and alternative rock. He is especially known for originating the term “foogaze,” which he began using around 2020 to describe both his sound and a Latino presence within the shoegaze scene. His shoegaze-style cover of Foo Fighters’ “Everlong” helped the term gain attention online. Estrada writes, records, and produces his own music, including the 2023 EP Public Secret.¹ ²
