Stravinsky The Rite of Spring // London Symphony Orchestra/Sir Simon Rattle

“When The Rite of Spring by Igor Stravinsky first premiered in 1913; its tension, edginess, and dissonance (as well as the jerky stomping of the avant garde dance that accompanied it) infamously provoked fights in the audience.
It’s usually described as a riot, which is a bit of an exaggeration, but there were physical altercations and like 40 people had to be kicked out.”
